I was made for more.

Updated: Aug 29, 2023

I get messages everyday from people who are unfulfilled with their current career.

And by “unfulfilled” I mean they loathe their job, loathe going to work, and in turn… loathe themselves to one degree or another.

They tell me that they are mistreated by their boss, disrespected by their clients, etc etc etc.

I get it. I was there too. Fortunately, there’s a way out.

Read on!

A daddy full of regret

It doesn’t have to be this way. For me, and the people I coach, the answer is entrepreneurship.

It comes in many forms: solopreneurship, a small business, real estate investing, a side hustle, fractional consulting, etc. = working for yourself.

Call it what you want, so many people I talk to dream of breaking away and doing something they truly love. Something that both provides for their family and makes them happy.

For True Northers, entrepreneurship represent the ultimate FREEDOM.

Yet, despite the longing for freedom, so many of them are unable or unwilling to make the leap. They feel it’s too risky, or they don’t know where to start.

I felt the same way. 8 years ago — with a new baby and mortgage — I made the decision to say goodbye to the “comfort” of corporate life.

Now please understand, few people are as fiscally conservative as I am. So YES… I was scared to break the golden cuffs.

But I was even more frightened to look my daughter in the eyes one day & have her see a daddy full of regret.

I wanted to build something for my family & myself that allowed us to not only be fulfilled in our work, but also in our daily lives.

Here’s how I did it.

My personal escape plan

I get the risky part. It can feel daunting to give up a stable income while you’re trying to support a family and pay the bills. Financial instability is NOT my jam either.

Here’s what I discovered…

You don’t have to choose between financial instability OR working a job you loathe.

Entrepreneurship and self employment are often unjustly labeled as high-risk-high-reward. But I learned, after plenty of trial-and-error, that it doesn’t have to be that way.

Instead, I built my consulting practice on the side while taking care of my responsibilities at my corporate gig… until one fired the other. Entrepreneurship won.

I tell you this to put you at ease. There IS a way out… and it doesn’t have to be risky.

If you’ve been dreaming of doing something more meaningful, start making a plan today.

Honestly, you can’t afford NOT to.

For those that this message hits home with, let me share a little more. [video link]
